I couldn't think of a more iconic landmark to feature in the first "Inspired by" Wednesday post. Our little Big Pineapple is - dare I say it - world famous! As I pulled into the car park today to take some snaps those heavy rain clouds miraculously parted, and as the sun shone down on our blessed pineapple, it positively glistened! Thank goodness it was saved from the 'Dark Lords of Loss' and plans are afoot to lovingly nurse the attraction back to it's former glory. I have lovely sepia tinted memories of the rattling train and Macadamia Nut Parfaits so when I returned to the coast five years ago one of the first stops to take my little boy was The Big Pineapple. His eyes too widened with delight at the sight of this icon and it's treasured attractions. Hooray for nostalgia, and the people who are doing their best to preserve it!
